Guides › Financial Advisor Fee Comparison
Updated September 29, 2026. Quick answer: We have published reviews of 182 financial advisory firms, each built from the firm’s own current fee brochure and its registration record. On a $500,000 account the median published annual fee across them is $7,500 a year. For 23 of the firms that figure is the firm’s stated minimum annual fee, which is higher than its percentage schedule would charge at that balance, and the table marks them. The table below lists every firm A to Z with its type and the $500,000 figure its review states, linked to the full review. 19 more reviews cover robo-advisors, advisor-matching services and advisor networks.
What these reviews cover, and what they do not
Each review prices the firm from its own current fee brochure (Form ADV Part 2A or its wrap-fee appendix) and checks its registration record, the SEC’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure record for an SEC-registered firm. The fee shown here is the one each review states for a $500,000 account under the schedule it cites. Most brochures publish a maximum or standard schedule and say fees can be negotiated, and fund expenses, custody charges and any third-party manager fees are usually separate, so read the linked review before comparing two firms on this number alone.
The type column groups firms by how they are organised (a registered investment adviser, a bank’s wealth arm, an insurance-affiliated firm, and so on), from our firm roster. It says nothing about quality, and no firm is ranked here.

Every fee figure comes from the linked review, which cites the firm’s own current fee brochure, archives it, and links the firm’s SEC record. Firm types come from our advisor-firm roster, which classifies each firm from its SEC Investment Adviser Public Disclosure registration; 3 firms whose reviewed entity differs from the roster entry are shown as not classified rather than guessed. The reviews span 13 published research waves, so brochure dates differ by firm.
Methodology
This page is generated from the published reviews themselves. Before publication each of the 182 fee figures was read from the live review’s own opening and checked to match the firm’s per-firm fee record, so this table and the reviews cannot disagree. Counts and medians are computed at build time, never typed. Reviews of legal-document and business-formation products are not advisory firms and are not listed. We are not an investment adviser and this is not personalised advice. See our Editorial Policy, Corrections, Affiliate Disclosure, and Disclaimer.
