Corient Review (2026): Fees and SEC Registration

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: Corient is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #319448, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD). Per its own current fee brochure, a $500,000 account would run up to $5,000 a year (the published maximum, which the firm says is negotiable) under its published fee schedule. Already a client and thinking about leaving? Budget $50 at Schwab, or $150 at Pershing Advisor Solutions LLC, depending on your custodian. This review covers what its fee brochure and current SEC registration confirm today; this firm also has a fiduciary-status page and minimum-investment page on this site.

What Corient’s own fee schedule charges

The SEC-registered legal entity behind the “Corient” brand is Corient Private Wealth LP, a limited partnership. Corient was formed from the 2023 rollup of dozens of independent RIAs (its IAPD record lists over 40 other names, including RGT Wealth Advisors, McCutchen Group and Dowling & Yahnke Wealth Advisors); this page cites the single combined entity’s own current brochure.

“The structure and level of Corient’s advisory fee will vary by client based upon the services provided and other considerations deemed relevant by Corient but typically takes the form of a percentage of assets under management and/or advisement, ranging up to 1.00% per annum. Corient, in its sole discretion, may, and does, negotiate its investment advisory fee and/or charge a flat fee based upon certain criteria (e.g., anticipated future earning capacity, anticipated future additional assets, dollar amount of assets to be managed, related accounts, account composition, competition, etc.). As a result, similarly, situated clients pay different fees.”

Corient’s own brochure states its advisory fee typically takes the form of a percentage of assets under management ranging up to 1.00% per annum, individually negotiated per client; each balance shown is priced at 1.00% of assets (Corient publishes no lower discrete tier, so the same 1.00% ceiling applies at every balance shown).

Account balanceAnnual fee
$250,000$2,500
$500,000$5,000

Registration

Corient Private Wealth LP is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #319448, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD).

This is a registration confirmation only, not a fiduciary-standard verdict (a registered investment adviser can still be a dual registrant with a broker-dealer, which changes which standard applies in each capacity). For the fiduciary-standard question itself, see the fiduciary-status page for Corient.

What it costs to leave

Corient Private Wealth LP itself charges nothing to end the relationship (its Form ADV Part 2A describes only a pro-rated refund of any prepaid fee). The cost is set by whichever custodian actually holds your account: Schwab’s standard outgoing-transfer fee is $50, and Pershing Advisor Solutions LLC (one of the custodians Corient’s own brochure names) charges $150 for an account termination.

Methodology. This page was built September 28, 2026, drawing directly on Corient’s own current fee brochure, linked above, and a fresh SEC IAPD registration check run the same day. As of September 28, 2026, this site publishes a fiduciary-status page and a minimum-investment page for Corient; where the exit-fee page already exists it is linked above and drawn from that already-sourced page. Any fact we could not independently confirm is named as an honest gap rather than presented as verified. Nothing here is personalized financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for reading Corient’s own Form ADV Part 2A and Form CRS. We have not used Corient as a client. Corient did not pay for, review, or influence this content. See our Editorial Policy, Corrections, Affiliate Disclosure, and Disclaimer.
