Updated September 7, 2026. Some links on Clear Money Guide are affiliate, referral, or sponsored links. If you click one of those links and submit a form, become a client, or make a purchase, we may earn compensation at no extra cost to you.
What this means
- We may be compensated by advisor-matching services, financial products, software tools, books, or other partners.
- Affiliate compensation helps support free calculators, fee guides, local advisor-fee pages, and educational planning resources.
- Sponsored or affiliate links use
rel="nofollow sponsored"where applicable.
Editorial independence
- Affiliate relationships do not determine our calculator math, fee examples, local guide coverage, rankings, or whether we publish corrections.
- Clear Money Guide does not sell placement in city guides, publish paid advisor reviews, or claim that one advisor or fee model is best for every household.
- We may mention partner options when relevant, but readers should compare costs, fiduciary status, written scope, and conflicts before making a decision.
How we are compensated today
More than one arrangement currently produces revenue, and every one of them is named below. The advisor-matching, WiserAdvisor, LawDepot, Morningstar, Truoba, and Bizee links described here carry rel="nofollow sponsored" and are labeled where they appear.
Advisor matching. On most pages that carry an advisor ask, the button reads See which advisers fit your situation and opens a form run by Kapitalwise, our advisor-matching partner, without sending you to another site. On an older set of pages the same rail appears as a Talk to a fiduciary advisor link. Either way, Clear Money Guide is paid when you submit that form, whether or not you ever hire anyone. That fee does not depend on how much you invest or which adviser you are matched with, and it does not change what our calculators compute or what our guides conclude.
WiserAdvisor. On a smaller set of pages written for portfolios of $250,000 and above, the ask is WiserAdvisor instead. WiserAdvisor states its service is built for that range, and it pays Clear Money Guide $75 when you complete its form, again whether or not you ever hire anyone.
LawDepot. On pages about the cost of wills, living trusts, powers of attorney, probate, transfer-on-death deeds, and LLC operating agreements, links to LawDepot, a paid legal-document service, may earn us a commission if you buy a document there.
Morningstar. On pages about investment research and fund or stock ratings, links to Morningstar may earn us a commission if you subscribe to its investor service.
Truoba. On our house-plan cost page, links to Truoba, a house-plan seller, may earn us a commission if you buy a plan through them.
Bizee. On a small number of pages about forming and running an LLC, links to Bizee, a paid LLC-formation service, may earn us a commission (roughly $30–$175 depending on the service) if you purchase through them — disclosed on each page where it appears, never hidden in this page alone. We also link two comparable formation services by name (Northwest Registered Agent, ZenBusiness) without a commission, because we have no paid relationship with either yet.
On Clear Money Guide’s solar-kit matcher and related solar or backup-power pages, we may link to A1 SolarStore. If a reader follows a sponsored link and completes a qualified purchase, Clear Money Guide may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to the reader. A1 SolarStore is identified before the outbound click. Clear Money Guide does not claim to compare every seller or guarantee product fit, price, savings, compatibility, or installation results.
Clear Money Guide is not an investment adviser, does not manage money, and does not sell financial products. Nothing on this site is personalized financial, tax, or legal advice.
