Dana Investment Advisors Review (2026): Fees and SEC Registration

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: Dana Investment Advisors is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #105879, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD). Per its own current fee brochure, a $500,000 account would run $5,000 a year under its published fee schedule. This review covers what its own fee brochure and current SEC registration confirm today; it does not assess fiduciary status or account minimums.

What Dana Investment Advisors’ own fee schedule charges

The registrant is Dana Investment Advisors, Inc. of Waukesha, Wisconsin. The priced schedule is the Wealth Management schedule, which the brochure lists for wealth management accounts. The brochure says its client base is mainly institutions and certain high net worth individuals, and its targeted minimum for most equity strategies is $1,000,000, which the firm may waive.

“Limited Volatility Bond Wealth Management First $3,000,000 0.30% per year First $1,000,000 1.00% per year Next $7,000,000 0.25% per year Next $4,000,000 0.80% per year Next $15,000,000 0.20% per year Over $5,000,000 0.70% per year”

Each balance is priced marginally: the first $1,000,000 at 1.00%, the next $4,000,000 at 0.80% and anything above $5,000,000 at 0.70%, so each band’s rate applies only to the dollars inside that band. The brochure discloses no minimum annual dollar fee, so no floor applies. The brochure calls these the current fee schedule for new accounts and says fees may be negotiable for accounts of substantial size or efficiency. The figures at $250,000 and $500,000 sit below the firm’s targeted minimum account size, so they are illustrative of the schedule, not of an account the firm would necessarily accept.

The table below is the firm’s own advisory fee schedule. Fund expenses, custodian charges and any third-party manager or platform fees are generally separate from an advisory fee like this one; Item 5 of the brochure lists what applies to a given account.

Account balanceAnnual fee
$250,000$2,500
$500,000$5,000
$1,000,000$10,000
$2,000,000$18,000

These figures come directly from Dana Investment Advisors’ own current fee brochure, cited in Sources below.

Registration

Dana Investment Advisors, Inc. is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #105879, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD).

This is a registration confirmation only, not a fiduciary-standard verdict (a registered investment adviser can still be a dual registrant with a broker-dealer, which changes which standard applies in each capacity).

What it costs to leave

We did not find a firm-specific dollar figure for leaving Dana Investment Advisors in its brochure or in its custodian’s published schedules, so we are not stating one. The general mechanics of switching financial advisors and a dated termination letter apply regardless of firm.

Methodology. This page was built September 28, 2026, drawing directly on Dana Investment Advisors’ own current fee brochure, cited in Sources below, and a fresh SEC IAPD registration check run the same day. Where exit-fee facts are cited, they trace to the named custodian’s own published schedule. Any fact we could not independently confirm is named as an honest gap rather than presented as verified.
