RBC Rochdale Review (2026): Fees and SEC Registration

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: RBC Rochdale is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #117198, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD). Per its own current fee brochure, a $500,000 account would run $5,000 a year under its published fee schedule. Already a client and thinking about leaving? Budget $150 at Pershing. This review covers what its own fee brochure and current SEC registration confirm today; it does not assess fiduciary status or account minimums.

What RBC Rochdale’s own fee schedule charges

The registrant is RBC Rochdale, LLC of New York, which the SEC record also lists as City National Rochdale. The priced schedule is the Independent Channel advisory fee, and the brochure lists individuals, primarily high net worth and emerging high net worth, among its clients. The brochure states a generally requested account minimum of $1,000,000 for its direct business.

“First $2,000,000 1.00% Next $3,000,000 0.80% Next $5,000,000 0.60% $10,000,000 and above 0.50%”

The brochure states that each tier applies to the assets within it, so each balance is priced marginally, with the first $2,000,000 at 1.00% and later bands at their lower rates. Every balance shown here falls inside the first band and is priced at 1.00%. The brochure says it has maximum fees by account relationship or program and that a fee may be negotiated lower but not higher, so these are ceilings rather than typical charges. The $1,000,000 figure is the brochure’s general account minimum, not a minimum annual fee, and the brochure discloses no minimum annual dollar fee, so no floor applies.

What the same brochure says about fees charged on top of this schedule: “In addition to Rochdale’s fee, the third-party adviser’s fee will apply where a third-party adviser has been engaged.” The table below is the firm’s own advisory fee schedule and does not include any such additional fee.

Account balanceAnnual fee
$250,000$2,500
$500,000$5,000
$1,000,000$10,000
$2,000,000$20,000

These figures come directly from RBC Rochdale’s own current fee brochure, cited in Sources below.

Registration

RBC Rochdale, LLC is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #117198, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD).

This is a registration confirmation only, not a fiduciary-standard verdict (a registered investment adviser can still be a dual registrant with a broker-dealer, which changes which standard applies in each capacity).

What it costs to leave

RBC Rochdale, LLC’s Form ADV Part 2A states “In the event a Client’s agreement is terminated by either party prior to the end of the billing period, a pro-rata refund of the investment advisory, investment management and/or program fee (depending on the account relationship) will be provided to the Client by Rochdale.” RBC Rochdale, LLC names exactly one custodian in its brochure: Pershing. Pershing Advisor Solutions LLC’s own published fee schedule states “Account Termination”

The general mechanics of switching financial advisors and a dated termination letter apply regardless of firm.

Methodology. This page was built September 28, 2026, drawing directly on RBC Rochdale’s own current fee brochure, cited in Sources below, and a fresh SEC IAPD registration check run the same day. Where exit-fee facts are cited, they trace to the named custodian’s own published schedule. Any fact we could not independently confirm is named as an honest gap rather than presented as verified. Nothing here is personalized financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for reading RBC Rochdale’s own Form ADV Part 2A and Form CRS.
