Guides › Financial Advisor Fees
Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: AmeriServ Wealth Advisors is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #105846, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD). Per its own current fee brochure, a $500,000 account would run $5,000 a year under its published fee schedule. This review covers what its own fee brochure and current SEC registration confirm today; it does not assess fiduciary status or account minimums.

What AmeriServ Wealth Advisors’ own fee schedule charges
AmeriServ Wealth Advisors, Inc. is the registered adviser, a wholly owned subsidiary of AmeriServ Financial Bank of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and the public record also lists West Chester Capital Advisors as another name. The priced figure is the standard Portfolio Management Services schedule, which covers the individuals and high net worth individuals the brochure lists among its clients.
“First $1 million dollars 1.00% Next $2 million dollars 0.80% Next $2 million dollars 0.60% Over $5 million dollars 0.40%”
Each balance is priced on the marginal reading, the same way the brochure’s own $6 million example stacks its bands: the first $1 million at 1.00%, the next $2 million at 0.80%, the next $2 million at 0.60% and anything above $5 million at 0.40%. The brochure discloses no minimum annual dollar fee, so no floor applies, although it asks for $250,000 of assets under management to open an account and says that minimum is negotiable. The brochure says the firm may negotiate alternative fees, so these figures are the published schedule, not a guaranteed charge.
The table below is the firm’s own advisory fee schedule. Fund expenses, custodian charges and any third-party manager or platform fees are generally separate from an advisory fee like this one; Item 5 of the brochure lists what applies to a given account.
| Account balance | Annual fee |
|---|---|
| $250,000 | $2,500 |
| $500,000 | $5,000 |
| $1,000,000 | $10,000 |
| $2,000,000 | $18,000 |

Registration
AmeriServ Wealth Advisors, Inc. is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #105846, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD).
This is a registration confirmation only, not a fiduciary-standard verdict (a registered investment adviser can still be a dual registrant with a broker-dealer, which changes which standard applies in each capacity).
What it costs to leave
We did not find a firm-specific dollar figure for leaving AmeriServ Wealth Advisors in its brochure or in its custodian’s published schedules, so we are not stating one. The general mechanics of switching financial advisors and a dated termination letter apply regardless of firm.
