Guides › Financial Advisor Fees
Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: Mutual of Omaha Investor Services discloses a maximum, individually negotiated rate of 1.25% in its Form ADV Part 2A Brochure (March 31, 2026). Converted to dollars, that runs $6,250 a year on a $500,000 account; see the full table below for $250,000, $1 million and $2 million.
The published numbers
From the Form ADV Part 2A Brochure (March 31, 2026): “The specific annual fee of MOIS for Managed Account Services will generally be identified in the Statement of Investment Selection signed by you and MOIS or other written addendum between the parties. Under no circumstances will the annual fee of MOIS for FSP, SMA or UMA Managed Account Services exceed 1.25% (one hundred twenty-five basis points). Under no circumstances will the annual fee of MOIS for APM Managed Account Services exceed 2.25% (two hundred twenty-five basis points). MOIS will not charge a performance fee for its investment advisory services based on the capital gains or the capital appreciation of your account. MOIS allows your Advisor to set the exact investment advisory fee within ranges provided by MOIS. As a result, your Advisor may charge more or less for the same service than another Advisor of MOIS.”
Note: CRD 611 independently re-verified ACTIVE/isSECRegistered=Y, SEC-approved since 7/30/2002; also does business as Mutual of Omaha Financial Advisors. The 1.25% figure is the stated ceiling for the firm’s FSP/SMA/UMA Managed Account Services; a separate, higher 2.25% ceiling applies only to its Advisor-as-Portfolio-Manager (APM) account type and is not used here.
The published maximum: 1.25% per year.
What you would pay
| Account balance | Annual fee (dollars) | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $3,125 | 1.25% |
| $500,000 | $6,250 | 1.25% |
| $1,000,000 | $12,500 | 1.25% |
| $2,000,000 | $25,000 | 1.25% |
Each balance is shown at the plan’s 1.25% ceiling rate applied to the full account value, since the brochure sets this as a hard cap rather than a marginal schedule and states no separate flat-dollar minimum for this fee.
How this compares
Our benchmark of published adviser fee schedules puts the weighted median annual cost near $2,000 to $2,500 on $250,000 (the benchmark). At $500,000, Mutual of Omaha Investor Services’s own published maximum rate runs up to $6,250 a year.
