Wintrust Wealth Management Minimum Investment (2026): What It Takes to Open an Account

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: $1,000,000 for Private Wealth Services. Wintrust Wealth Management’s own Form ADV Part 2A brochure states this figure directly, though the firm reserves some discretion to adjust it. At that minimum, Wintrust Wealth Management’s own published fee schedule works out to $10,000 a year.

The minimum, in the firm’s own words

“The standard minimum account size for a private wealth client is $1,000,000 for Equity and Balanced accounts; and $2,000,000 for Fixed Income accounts.”

On waivability: “The minimum account sizes are provided in the charts in the following pages, although we may accept smaller investments at our discretion.”

What else to know

Fixed Income accounts within Private Wealth Services carry a higher standard minimum of $2,000,000. Great Lakes Advisors, the SEC-registered subsidiary of Wintrust Financial Corp. that provides Wintrust’s investment management, also runs separate Institutional Services with much higher minimums (from $2,000,000 to $10,000,000 depending on strategy) that apply only to institutional clients, not retail wealth-management clients.

What a larger account would cost

The minimum is only the entry point. On a $500,000 account, Wintrust Wealth Management’s own Form ADV Part 2A (September 3, 2026) works out to $5,000 a year under its published fee schedule.

Methodology. This page was built September 28, 2026, quoting directly from Wintrust Wealth Management’s own current Form ADV Part 2A / wrap-fee brochure, with the source linked above. The annual-fee-at-the-minimum figure applies that same brochure’s own published fee schedule to the disclosed minimum dollar amount; any distinction we could not independently confirm this session is named as an honest gap rather than presented as verified.
