Guides › Financial Advisor Fees
Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: Prospera Financial Services is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #10740, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD). Per its own current fee brochure, a $500,000 account would run up to $10,750 a year (the published maximum, which the firm says is negotiable) under its published fee schedule. Already a client and thinking about leaving? Budget $50 if Schwab custodies your account. This review covers what its own fee brochure and current SEC registration confirm today; it does not assess fiduciary status or account minimums.

What Prospera Financial Services’ own fee schedule charges
The registrant is Prospera Financial Services, Inc. of Dallas, Texas, a dually registered broker-dealer and investment adviser that also does business as Prospera Wealth Advisors and under many advisor-branded names. The priced figure is the stated maximum for its advisory programs, which serve individual clients, including high net worth individuals.
“Fees charged on all assets are negotiable and the maximum annual fee charged for program accounts shall not exceed 2.15% of assets under management.”
Each balance is priced at the stated 2.15% maximum annual fee applied to the whole account value. The brochure discloses no minimum annual dollar fee for the Summit programs, which have no minimum account size, so no floor applies. These are ceiling figures, not typical charges, since the brochure says fees are negotiable and depend on factors such as account size and the complexity of the client’s situation.
What the same brochure says about fees charged on top of this schedule: “Sub-Adviser(s) fee shall be calculated and collected separately from the Summit-OP program fees described below.” The table below is the firm’s own advisory fee schedule and does not include any such additional fee.
| Account balance | Annual fee |
|---|---|
| $250,000 | $5,375 |
| $500,000 | $10,750 |
| $1,000,000 | $21,500 |
| $2,000,000 | $43,000 |

Registration
Prospera Financial Services, Inc. is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #10740, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD).
This is a registration confirmation only, not a fiduciary-standard verdict (a registered investment adviser can still be a dual registrant with a broker-dealer, which changes which standard applies in each capacity).
What it costs to leave
Prospera Financial Services, Inc.’s Form ADV Part 2A states “Either of us may end the agreement by providing notice to the other party.” Prospera Financial Services, Inc. names three possible custodians in its brochure, with no single default. Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.’s own published fee schedule states “Full transfer (out) of assets” Wells Fargo Clearing Services / First Clearing and RBC Clearing disclose no comparable line item (an honest gap).
The general mechanics of switching financial advisors and a dated termination letter apply regardless of firm.

Methodology. This page was built September 28, 2026, drawing directly on Prospera Financial Services’ own current fee brochure, cited in Sources below, and a fresh SEC IAPD registration check run the same day.
