Truist AMC Pinnacle Program: Fees, Minimum and Terms

Updated October 16, 2026. Quick answer: AMC Pinnacle is a unified managed account program offered by Truist Advisory Services, Inc. in which Truist and Envestnet are co-advisers. The brochure dated August 31, 2026 prints a maximum program fee of 2.25% for the program, a minimum funding amount of $25,000, and added charges when a third-party model provider or manager is selected. At the printed maximum the fee is $5,625 a year on $250,000 (computed here).

What AMC Pinnacle is

The brochure defines the program this way: “The AMC Pinnacle Program is a unified managed account program, (“UMA”) that allows Clients to open and/or maintain multiple advisory strategies in one underlying TIS brokerage account resulting in one investment account for reporting the Client’s assets, performance and management fee processing.” It describes the choices inside it: “Client accounts enrolled in the Program can select multiple advisory strategies (each a “Sleeve”) from the following: Advisor Managed Sleeves, Manager Model Sleeve and Fixed Income Manager Sleeve”.

On who directs the trades, the brochure says “Clients elect the investment transactions for their accounts enrolled in the Advisor Managed Non-Discretionary Sleeve Program but do not direct investment transactions for their accounts enrolled in the Advisor Managed Discretionary or SMA Sleeves of this Program.”

This page covers one program. The firm-wide picture is on Truist fees. The adviser named in the brochure is Truist Advisory Services, Inc., which the SEC’s adviser database lists under CRD 283390 and shows as an active investment adviser registration when checked on October 16, 2026.

Who manages the account

The brochure names two advisers: “TAS and Envestnet are co-advisers of the AMC Pinnacle Program. TAS or TAS Advisors act as investment manager for each of the Program Sleeves.” It adds a limit on acceptance: “Envestnet is permitted, in its sole discretion to determine whether to accept or reject a Client or Account’s participation in the Program.”

Envestnet’s trading role is stated separately: “In the AMC Pinnacle Program, Envestnet acts as the overlay manager and determines, in their sole discretion, the trading triggers from the initial investment through portfolio updates and rebalancing triggers for transactions.” Portfolios in the advisor sleeves are run by Truist advisors: “TAS Advisors manage portfolios in the Adviser Managed Sleeves, on both a discretionary and nondiscretionary basis.”

The program fee and its printed maximum

The brochure describes one fee for these programs: “AMC Program accounts are charged a single asset-based fee (the “Program Fee”) that includes our ongoing Client advice and service and the execution and custodial services of TIS and NFS except those charges that, as described in the Other Fees and Charges Section below, will be paid by the Client.”

Its fee schedule lists Pinnacle among the programs that share one stated ceiling: “AMC Advise, AMC Allocation Plus, AMC Fund Select Tactical, AMC Pinnacle, AMC Premier and Sentry Programs”. The next line reads “The maximum program fee is 2.25%.” The brochure prints that single maximum for Pinnacle and no separate Pinnacle fee table.

The table applies the printed maximum to three balances. The brochure calls 2.25% a maximum, so these are ceilings and not typical or expected fees. The results are illustrations computed here, not figures printed by Truist, and they leave out every added charge listed in the next section.

Account valueAnnual Program Fee at the printed maximum, computed
$250,000$250,000 times 2.25% is $5,625
$500,000$500,000 times 2.25% is $11,250
$1,000,000$1,000,000 times 2.25% is $22,500

Charges added on top of the Program Fee

The brochure says the program fee grows when outside managers are used: “Client’s Program Fee will be corresponding increased by applicable Third-Party Model Provider and Third-Party Manager fees.” The charges it lists for Pinnacle are:

Added chargeAs printed
Third-party model provider or manager“AMC Fund Select Tactical and AMC Pinnacle Third Party Model Provider fees range from 35 to 75 basis points”
Envestnet administration“A .02% administrative fee is included in the Third- Party model provider or investment manager fee.”
TAS Equity Model Portfolio“If a Client’s taxable AMC Pinnacle Program and/or AMC Premier Program account is managed utilizing one or more of the TAS Equity Model Portfolios”
Tax and impact overlay“Clients who elect the Tax and/or Impact Overlay management services provided by the Platform Manager related to the AMC Pinnacle and AMC Fund Select Tactical Programs will be charged an additional fee”

The tax overlay fees are printed in a separate table in the brochure by account value, and that table is not reproduced here. Options strategies carry their own warning: “Clients utilizing options overlay strategies may also incur fees associated with underlying investment manager(s), platform services, advisory services, and other Program services.”

Minimum account size and billing

The program’s minimum appears in the brochure’s account requirements table: “AMC Pinnacle $ 25,000”. A footnote sets the consequence of not funding the account: “AMC Program Accounts established and not funded at the minimum funding requirement within 90 days may be reclassified as standard unmanaged full-service commission based TIS brokerage accounts.” “TAS retains the right to waive or increase or decrease the minimum investment amounts for each Program upon written notice to affected Clients.”

Billing is described by quarter. “Program Fees are pro-rated for accounts that are opened or closed during the quarter.” “If Client invests or withdraws $10,000 or more in any AMC Program account after the inception of a calendar quarter, the Program Fee for that quarter will be recalculated and pro-rated as of the day of the additional investment or withdrawal.” The brochure says whether the fee is paid in advance or in arrears only for the AMC Annuity Program, so it gives no such timing for Pinnacle.

Conflicts the brochure discloses

The advisor compensation section ties pay to revenue. “Because advisory fees are generally higher than commissions for comparable brokerage services, these compensation arrangements create financial incentives for TAS and its Advisors to recommend or retain clients in TAS’s fee-based advisory programs rather than brokerage accounts.”

A second passage describes the incentive to choose costlier products: “TAS Advisors have financial incentives to recommend account relationships, investment products, services, and advisory programs that generate higher amounts of revenue and compensation for TIS, TAS, their affiliates, and the applicable TAS Advisor, including higher-cost products and services, rather than other comparable alternatives.”

The brochure also notes that outside managers sell similar products elsewhere: “Third-Party Investment managers can offer to the public other investment products such as mutual funds or ETFs with similar investment styles and holdings as those investment products offered through the AMC Programs.” The steps for moving an account are on how to leave Truist. The document read for this page is the Truist Advisory Services, Inc. Asset Management Consulting Wrap Fee Programs brochure dated August 31, 2026, which truist.com served on 2026-10-16. Check the date on the brochure you were given, because the maximum fee, the minimum and the added charges can change with a later brochure.

Common mistakes

  • Treating 2.25% as the cost of every Pinnacle account. The brochure calls it the maximum program fee and prints no separate Pinnacle fee table, so the actual rate on a statement can differ.
  • Stopping at the Program Fee. The brochure says the Program Fee is increased by Third-Party Model Provider and Third-Party Manager fees, which it prints as ranging from 35 to 75 basis points for Pinnacle, plus other listed charges.
  • Funding the account below the minimum. The account requirements table prints $25,000 for AMC Pinnacle, and an account not funded at the minimum within 90 days may be reclassified as a commission-based brokerage account.
