Note: CRD 292271 was confirmed ACTIVE and SEC registered through a live SEC IAPD lookup on September 28, 2026. The registrant is Sound Financial, LLC, which markets itself as Sound Financial Group (SFG) and is based in Lake Stevens, Washington. The firm reports about $210.8 million in regulatory assets under management, and its filing lists individual and high net worth individual clients. The priced figure covers the firm’s Schwab-custodied asset management schedule for individual clients.
- $0-$500,000: 1.49%
- $500,001-$2,500,000: 0.99%
- $2,500,001-$4,000,000: 0.75%
- $4,000,001-$7,000,000: 0.49%
- $7,000,001 and above: 0.30%
The priced schedule is the firm’s management fee for accounts held at Charles Schwab, where the firm’s fee and the total fee are the same figure. Fund-level expenses on mutual funds and ETFs are separate and are not reflected in the figures below. The brochure also publishes a different schedule for accounts managed through AssetMark, where a firm fee and a third-party fee together produce a higher total at some balances (the total is 1.49% on the first $500,000 and then steps down more slowly), and a Betterment schedule whose totals match the Schwab figures used here. Financial planning fees are charged separately and are not included. The firm states that its fees are negotiable, so an individual fee may be higher or lower.
What you would pay
| Account balance | Annual fee (dollars) | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $3,725 | 1.49% |
| $500,000 | $7,450 | 1.49% |
| $1,000,000 | $12,400 | 1.24% |
| $2,000,000 | $22,300 | 1.12% |
Each balance is priced marginally: the brochure states that each fee tier is charged only on the assets in that tier range, so the first $500,000 is charged at 1.49% and the next dollars at 0.99%. The brochure discloses no minimum annual dollar fee for this schedule, so no floor applies. The firm states its fees are negotiable, so these are published schedule rates, not a guaranteed charge.
