RBC Rochdale Fees (2026): What You Pay in Dollars at $250k, $500k, $1M

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: RBC Rochdale discloses a tiered schedule starting at 1.00% in its Form ADV Part 2A (May 28, 2026). Converted to dollars, that runs $5,000 a year on a $500,000 account; see the full table below for $250,000, $1 million and $2 million.

The published numbers

From the Form ADV Part 2A (May 28, 2026): “First $2,000,000 1.00% Next $3,000,000 0.80% Next $5,000,000 0.60% $10,000,000 and above 0.50%”

Note: CRD 117198 was confirmed ACTIVE and SEC registered through a live SEC IAPD lookup on September 28, 2026. The registrant is RBC Rochdale, LLC of New York, which the SEC record also lists as City National Rochdale. The firm reports about $73.0 billion in regulatory assets under management. The priced schedule is the Independent Channel advisory fee, and the brochure lists individuals, primarily high net worth and emerging high net worth, among its clients. The brochure states a generally requested account minimum of $1,000,000 for its direct business.

  • $0-$2,000,000: 1.00%
  • $2,000,000-$5,000,000: 0.80%
  • $5,000,000-$10,000,000: 0.60%
  • $10,000,000 and above: 0.50%

The priced schedule is the Investment Advisory Fee of the Independent Channel Annual Program Relationship Model. In that model the client also pays a separate annual Program Fee for transaction costs and custody, which runs from 0.11% on accounts under $500,000 down to 0.01% above $10,000,000, and that Program Fee is not included in the figures below. Clients also pay miscellaneous custodian administrative fees, and any fee to a referring financial advisor is separate. Under the Transaction-Based Relationship Model the same percentage schedule applies as an investment management fee, with brokerage and custody billed by the custodian.

What you would pay

Account balanceAnnual fee (dollars)Effective rate
$250,000$2,5001.00%
$500,000$5,0001.00%
$1,000,000$10,0001.00%
$2,000,000$20,0001.00%

The brochure states that each tier applies to the assets within it, so each balance is priced marginally, with the first $2,000,000 at 1.00% and later bands at their lower rates. Every balance shown here falls inside the first band and is priced at 1.00%. The brochure says it has maximum fees by account relationship or program and that a fee may be negotiated lower but not higher, so these are ceilings rather than typical charges. The $1,000,000 figure is the brochure’s general account minimum, not a minimum annual fee, and the brochure discloses no minimum annual dollar fee, so no floor applies.

How this compares

Our benchmark of published adviser fee schedules puts the weighted median annual cost near $2,000 to $2,500 on $250,000 (the benchmark). At $500,000, RBC Rochdale’s own published rate runs $5,000 a year.
