Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 23, 2026. Quick answer: Plancorp discloses a tiered schedule starting at 1.00% in its Plancorp Fee & Value Calculator (plancorp.com), embedded fee-schedule config in the published page, cross-checked against the firm’s Form ADV Part 2A Brochure (Fee-calculator page carries no printed revision date (site copyright 2026, fetched September 23, 2026); the corroborating Form ADV Part 2A Brochure is dated August 12, 2026). Converted to dollars, that runs $12,000 a year on a $500,000 account; see the full table below for $250,000, $1 million and $2 million.

The published numbers

From the Plancorp Fee & Value Calculator (plancorp.com), embedded fee-schedule config in the published page, cross-checked against the firm’s Form ADV Part 2A Brochure (Fee-calculator page carries no printed revision date (site copyright 2026, fetched September 23, 2026); the corroborating Form ADV Part 2A Brochure is dated August 12, 2026): “constants: {“fee_tiers”:[{“limit”:2000000,”rate”:1},{“limit”:4000000,”rate”:0.8},{“limit”:6000000,”rate”:0.6},{“limit”:10000000,”rate”:0.5},{“limit”:25000000,”rate”:0.45},{“limit”:45000000,”rate”:0.4},{“limit”:75000000,”rate”:0.35},{“limit”:null,”rate”:0.3}]}. fee: function(){for(var e=0,t=0,a=this.constants.fee_tiers…;)…e+=s*(i.rate/100),t=i.limit;return Math.max(e, 12000)}. Corroborating Form ADV Part 2A Brochure, Item 5.B.i: When providing both investment management and financial planning services or standalone investment management services, we generally charge an asset-based fee. Clients are generally subject to a minimum annual fee of $12,000.”

What you would pay

Account balanceAnnual fee (dollars)Effective rate
$250,000$12,0004.80%
$500,000$12,0002.40%
$1,000,000$12,0001.20%
$2,000,000$20,0001.00%

Plancorp’s Form ADV Part 2A Brochure (Item 5) discloses only that it charges an asset-based fee under a cliff/breakpoint or tiered/blended schedule with a $12,000 annual minimum for wealth management, but does not print the actual percentage rates; those rates are hard-coded into the fee_tiers config of Plancorp’s own public Fee and Value Calculator page, which applies each tier’s rate only to the dollars within that band (marginal, not whole-balance) and then floors the total at the $12,000 ADV-stated minimum. At $250,000, $500,000, and $1,000,000, the 1.00 percent first-tier rate produces $2,500, $5,000, and $10,000, each below the $12,000 floor, so the floor of $12,000 applies at all three balances. At $2,000,000, the 1.00 percent rate on the full first tier produces exactly $20,000, which exceeds the floor.

How this compares

Our benchmark of published adviser fee schedules puts the weighted median annual cost near $2,000 to $2,500 on $250,000 (the benchmark). At $500,000, Plancorp’s own published rate runs $12,000 a year.
