Mercer Advisors Minimum Investment (2026): What It Takes to Open an Account

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 18, 2026. Quick answer: Mercer Advisors does not publish a minimum dollar amount to open a Custom Wealth account. Instead, it enforces a $15,000-a-year minimum fee, which becomes the real floor for smaller balances once the percentage schedule alone would charge less than that.

The minimum, in the firm’s own words

“Custom Wealth-Standard Annual Fee Schedule, WEALTH MANAGEMENT TIERED ADVISORY FEES-PERCENTAGE OF ASSETS MANAGED: First $1,000,000 1.10%; Next $1,000,000 1.00%; Next $3,000,000 0.90%; Next $5,000,000 0.75%; Over $10,000,000 0.50% Minimum Fee $15,000”

Mercer Advisors’s own fee schedule at other balances

Account balanceAnnual fee
$250,000$15,000
$500,000$15,000
$1,000,000$15,000
$2,000,000$21,000

What else to know

The percentage schedule alone works out to less than $15,000 for balances under $1.4 million, so the flat $15,000 minimum fee applies instead until an account is large enough to exceed it.

What a larger account would cost

The minimum is only the entry point. On a $500,000 account, Mercer Advisors’ own published fee schedule runs $15,000 a year; see the full dollar breakdown from Mercer Advisors’ own fee disclosure across several account sizes.
