Guides › Financial Advisor Fees
Updated September 19, 2026. Quick answer: Wealth Enhancement Group is less expensive at $500,000: $7,500 a year, versus $14,750 a year for LPL Financial, computed from each firm’s own SEC-filed fee disclosure. See the full side-by-side table below for $250,000, $1 million and $2 million.
What each firm charges, side by side
| Account balance | LPL Financial (annual fee) | Wealth Enhancement Group (annual fee) |
|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $7,375 | $3,750 |
| $500,000 | $14,750 | $7,500 |
| $1,000,000 | $29,500 | $12,500 |
| $2,000,000 | $59,000 | $25,000 |
LPL Financial discloses a maximum, individually negotiated rate of 2.95% (LPL Financial LLC Program Brochure, Form ADV Part 2A, Item 5 (“Fee Maximums”), July 1, 2026); Wealth Enhancement Group discloses a tiered schedule starting at 1.50% (Wealth Enhancement Advisory Services, LLC Form ADV Part 2A Disclosure Brochure, March 2026).
What the fee includes, in each firm’s own words
LPL Financial (LPL Financial LLC Program Brochure, Form ADV Part 2A, Item 5 (“Fee Maximums”), July 1, 2026): “Fee Maximums. Fee maximums vary by Program, as indicated below. … MWP: Maximum Advisory Fee 2.35%, Maximum Manager Fee 0.60%, Total Maximum Account Fee 2.95%.” Model Wealth Portfolios (MWP): 2.35% maximum Advisory Fee plus a 0.60% maximum Manager Fee.
LPL sets per-program fee ceilings rather than a single published breakpoint table; the figures above use Model Wealth Portfolios, LPL’s flagship managed-account program, at its 2.95% combined maximum. Other LPL programs cap lower (as low as 1.35% for Guided Wealth Portfolios); your actual rate depends on the program and is individually negotiated below the ceiling.
Wealth Enhancement Group (Wealth Enhancement Advisory Services, LLC Form ADV Part 2A Disclosure Brochure, March 2026): “For clients with flat fee schedules, the sample charges are below, actual fees may be higher or lower: Sample Flat-Rate Based Fees Portfolio Size Annual % $999,999 or less 1.50% $1,000,000–$2,000,000 1.25% Over $2,000,000 1.00% … Based upon the sample schedule above, the annual fee examples are listed below: A client with $500,000 would be charged 1.50% annually, billed monthly or quarterly. A client with $1,500,000 would be charged 1.25% annually, billed monthly or quarterly. A client with $2,500,000 would be charged 1.00% annually, billed monthly or quarterly.”
This is WEAS’s own disclosed ‘Sample Flat-Rate Based Fees’ table (explicitly labeled a sample – actual advisory fees are individually negotiated per client by the WEAS financial advisor, capped firm-wide at a stated maximum of 2% per year). It is a whole-balance (breakpoint) schedule, not marginal: the single rate for the bracket the account falls into applies to the entire balance. $250,000 and $500,000 both fall in the ‘$999,999 or less’ bracket -> x1.50% ($3,750 and $7,500 – the $500,000 figure is confirmed verbatim by the document’s own worked example). $1,000,000 falls at the bottom of the ‘$1,000,000-$2,000,000’ bracket -> x1.25% = $12,500. $2,000,000 is treated as the inclusive top of the same bracket (the ‘Over $2,000,000’ bracket read as strictly greater than $2,000,000) -> x1.25% = $25,000.
How this compares
Our benchmark of published adviser fee schedules puts the weighted median annual cost near $2,000 to $2,500 on $250,000 (the benchmark). At $500,000, LPL Financial runs $14,750 a year and Wealth Enhancement Group runs $7,500 a year: a difference of $7,250 a year at that balance.
