IEQ Capital Minimum Investment (2026): What It Takes to Open an Account

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: IEQ Capital does not publish a minimum dollar amount to open an an investment management account. Instead, it enforces a $25,000-a-year minimum management fee (billed $6,250 a quarter), partly negotiable, which becomes the real floor for smaller balances once the percentage schedule alone would charge less than that.

The minimum, in the firm’s own words

IEQ Capital’s own Form ADV Part 2A brochure states no minimum account size, but does disclose a $25,000-a-year minimum management fee (billed $6,250 a quarter), partly negotiable, which becomes the real floor for smaller balances once the percentage schedule alone would charge less than that.

What else to know

IEQ states no account-size dollar minimum; its brochure instead describes a non-binding target: “IEQ targets working with SMA Clients whose net worth is $10,000,000 or more. The Firm reserves the right to accept Clients of any net worth and does currently work with Clients whose net worth is below the threshold.” The minimum fee is partly negotiable: “some Clients negotiate a lower minimum fee.”

What a larger account would cost

The minimum is only the entry point. On a $500,000 account, IEQ Capital’s own published fee schedule runs $25,000 a year; see the full dollar breakdown from IEQ Capital’s own fee disclosure across several account sizes. Read our full review of IEQ Capital before you decide.

Methodology. This page was built September 28, 2026, quoting directly from IEQ Capital’s own current Form ADV Part 2A / wrap-fee brochure, with the source linked above. The annual-fee-at-the-minimum figure applies that same brochure’s own published fee schedule to the disclosed minimum dollar amount; any distinction we could not independently confirm this session is named as an honest gap rather than presented as verified.
