Guides › Financial Advisor Fees
Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: Cresset Asset Management does not publish a minimum dollar amount to open an an investment management relationship account. Instead, it enforces a $25,000-a-year minimum fee (or 2.00% of managed assets, whichever is less), which becomes the real floor for smaller balances once the percentage schedule alone would charge less than that.
The minimum, in the firm’s own words
Cresset Asset Management’s own Form ADV Part 2A brochure states no minimum account size, but does disclose a $25,000-a-year minimum fee (or 2.00% of managed assets, whichever is less), which becomes the real floor for smaller balances once the percentage schedule alone would charge less than that.
Minimum investment and what it would cost
| Program | Minimum investment | Annual fee at that minimum | Waivable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| an investment management relationship | No published minimum account size | $25,000-a-year minimum fee (or 2.00% of managed assets, whichever is less) | N/A (fee floor, not account-size minimum) |

Cresset Asset Management’s own fee schedule at other balances
| Account balance | Annual fee |
|---|---|
| $250,000 | $5,000 |
| $500,000 | $10,000 |
| $1,000,000 | $20,000 |
| $2,000,000 | $25,000 |
What else to know
Cresset’s brochure states plainly there is no account-size minimum: “Cresset generally does not impose a minimum size for establishing a relationship although it may impose a minimum annual fee as stated above.” The $25,000 figure is the lesser-of floor’s ceiling; at smaller balances the actual floor is 2.00% of assets, which is why the fee page prices $5,000 at $250,000 and $10,000 at $500,000 rather than the full $25,000.
What a larger account would cost
The minimum is only the entry point. On a $500,000 account, Cresset Asset Management’s own published fee schedule runs $10,000 a year; see the full dollar breakdown from Cresset Asset Management’s own fee disclosure across several account sizes. Methodology. This page was built September 28, 2026, quoting directly from Cresset Asset Management’s own current Form ADV Part 2A / wrap-fee brochure, with the source linked above. The annual-fee-at-the-minimum figure applies that same brochure’s own published fee schedule to the disclosed minimum dollar amount; any distinction we could not independently confirm this session is named as an honest gap rather than presented as verified. Nothing here is personalized financial, tax, legal, or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for reading the firm’s own Form ADV Part 2A.
