Guides › Financial Advisor Fees
Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: Baker Tilly Wealth Management is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #167811, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD). Per its own current fee brochure, a $500,000 account would run $5,000 a year under its published fee schedule. Already a client and thinking about leaving? Budget $50 if Schwab custodies your account. This review covers what its own fee brochure and current SEC registration confirm today; it does not assess fiduciary status or account minimums.

What Baker Tilly Wealth Management’s own fee schedule charges
Baker Tilly Wealth Management, LLC is the registered adviser, and the SEC record lists Baker Tilly Financial, LLC and Baker Tilly Investment Services among its other names. The priced figure is the portfolio management schedule for individual clients, a group whose Part 1A reports include high net worth individuals.
“Client Assets Under Management Advisory Fee $0-$2,000,000 1.00% $2,000,001-$5,000,000 0.85% $5,000,001-$10,000,000 0.65% Over $10,000,000 0.55%”
The brochure calls this the schedule most adviser representatives choose to use and does not say in so many words whether the rate applies to the whole balance or only to each band. Each balance is priced by stacking the bands, so each rate applies only to the dollars inside its band. At every balance shown up to $2,000,000 the whole-balance and stacked readings give the same figure. The brochure discloses no minimum annual portfolio management fee, so no floor applies. The schedule is a typical starting point, not a guaranteed charge, and the firm may amend it on thirty days written notice. The firm’s investment consulting service uses the same rates and is not the priced service.
What the same brochure says about fees charged on top of this schedule: “Third-party investment managers provide services for an additional fee, separate and apart from the fees charged by BT Wealth Management.” The table below is the firm’s own advisory fee schedule and does not include any such additional fee.
| Account balance | Annual fee |
|---|---|
| $250,000 | $2,500 |
| $500,000 | $5,000 |
| $1,000,000 | $10,000 |
| $2,000,000 | $20,000 |

Registration
Baker Tilly Wealth Management, LLC is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #167811, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD).
This is a registration confirmation only, not a fiduciary-standard verdict (a registered investment adviser can still be a dual registrant with a broker-dealer, which changes which standard applies in each capacity).
What it costs to leave
Baker Tilly Wealth Management, LLC’s Form ADV Part 2A states “Each Agreement will continue in effect until terminated by either party pursuant to the terms of the Agreement.” Baker Tilly Wealth Management, LLC names four possible custodians in its brochure, with no single default. Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.’s own published fee schedule states “Full transfer (out) of assets” National Financial Services, LLC / Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC and Equity Advisor Solutions disclose no comparable line item (an honest gap).
The general mechanics of switching financial advisors and a dated termination letter apply regardless of firm.
