What Ritholtz Wealth Management’s own fee schedule charges

IAPD lists the firm as Ritholtz Wealth Management, with Comprehensive Portfolio Management, Ritholtz & Co., Liftoff and Good Advice among its other names. The brochure reports $9,423,491,497 in assets under management as of July 31, 2026. The priced schedule is the standard fee schedule for the firm’s Comprehensive Portfolio Management service, which applies to its individual clients; the firm does not offer wrap fee programs.

“Assets Under Management Maximum Annual Percentage of Assets Charge Up to $1,999,999 1.25% $2,000,000 to $2,999,999 1.00% $3,000,000 to $4,999,999 0.85% $5,000,000 to $9,999,999 0.75% $10,000,000 to $19,999,999 0.65% $20,000,000 to $49,999,999 0.45% Over $49,999,999 0.35%”

“For clients assessed a fee in accordance with our standard fee schedule, our firm’s fees are billed on a pro-rata annualized basis quarterly in advance based on the value of your account on the last day of the previous quarter. Fees may vary in certain circumstances. However, fees are generally not negotiable. The specific fee arrangement will be outlined in the advisory agreement to be signed by the client. We may group certain related client accounts for the purposes of determining the annualized fee.”

The brochure does not say whether each rate applies to the whole balance or only to the slice within its bracket, so the usual marginal method is used. At $250,000 and $500,000 the whole balance sits in the first bracket at 1.25%. At $1,000,000 the balance is likewise entirely in the first bracket. At $2,000,000 the balance is exactly one dollar past the first bracket, so 1.25% applies to the first $1,999,999 and 1.00% to the last dollar, which rounds to the figure shown. The brochure discloses no minimum annual fee, so no floor applies. Readers should treat the schedule as maximums.

The table below is the firm’s own advisory fee schedule. Fund expenses, custodian charges and any third-party manager or platform fees are generally separate from an advisory fee like this one; Item 5 of the brochure lists what applies to a given account.

Account balanceAnnual fee
$250,000$3,125
$500,000$6,250
$1,000,000$12,500
$2,000,000$25,000

Registration

Ritholtz Wealth Management LLC is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser (CRD #168652, confirmed ACTIVE this session via SEC IAPD).

This is a registration confirmation only, not a fiduciary-standard verdict (a registered investment adviser can still be a dual registrant with a broker-dealer, which changes which standard applies in each capacity).

What it costs to leave

Ritholtz Wealth Management LLC’s Form ADV Part 2A states “We charge our advisory fees quarterly in advance for our Comprehensive Portfolio Management and Good Advice services.” Ritholtz Wealth Management LLC names four possible custodians in its brochure, with no single default. Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.’s own published fee schedule states “Full transfer (out) of assets” Betterment’s own published fee schedule states “Betterment Securities charges a flat fee of $75 for each investing account transferred to another company.” Altruist Financial LLC’s own published fee schedule states “ACAT & Non-ACAT Transfers Out (Full) $50” Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC / National Financial Services LLC discloses no comparable line item (an honest gap).

The general mechanics of switching financial advisors and a dated termination letter apply regardless of firm.
