The published numbers
From the Form ADV Part 2A, Wrap Fee Program Brochure (March 31, 2026): “The annual Program Fee, which is negotiable is 2.00%”
Note: CRD 28116 was confirmed ACTIVE and SEC registered through a live SEC IAPD lookup on September 28, 2026. Chapin, Davis, Inc. is the registered adviser and uses Chapin Davis Asset Management as a marketing name. The firm reports about $642.8 million in regulatory assets under management. The priced figure is the default annual Program Fee in the firm’s Wrap Fee Program Brochure, which covers individual clients, including high net worth individuals, who use its wrap programs. The brochure states that the firm does not apply a firm-wide wrap fee schedule and that each adviser representative negotiates the actual fee.
The published All assets: 2.0% per year (The 2.00% is the unnegotiated Program Fee the brochure lists for each of its four wrap programs (Asset Advisor, FundSource, PUMA and Private Advisor Network). It is a bundled wrap fee that includes the advisor’s compensation. In the Private Advisor Network program the outside money manager bills a fee separately that is in addition to the Program Fee, so total cost there is likely higher. The Program Fee does not cover fund-level expenses of ETFs and mutual funds, customary custodial and account service fees, or brokerage charges on excluded assets. The brochure says a household with assets over $2 million will likely pay a lower fee percentage than an account with $50,000, all other things being relatively equal.).
What you would pay
| Account balance | Annual fee (dollars) | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $5,000 | 2.00% |
| $500,000 | $10,000 | 2.00% |
| $1,000,000 | $20,000 | 2.00% |
| $2,000,000 | $40,000 | 2.00% |
Each balance is priced at the stated 2.00% annual Program Fee applied to the whole account. The brochure lists no minimum annual dollar fee for these programs, but says each custodian has Program value thresholds that trigger additional or higher fees for low account balances; the 2.00% figure is applied to the whole balance here without such add-ons. The figures are a default starting rate that the brochure says is negotiable, not a typical or guaranteed charge.
How this compares
