Guides › Financial Advisor Fees
Updated September 28, 2026. Quick answer: Colony Family Offices discloses a tiered schedule starting at 1.00% in its Form ADV Part 2A (February 25, 2026). Converted to dollars, that runs $5,000 a year on a $500,000 account; see the full table below for $250,000, $1 million and $2 million.
The published numbers
From the Form ADV Part 2A (February 25, 2026): “Our maximum annual fees for wealth management and financial planning services are tiered according to the following schedule: Assets Under Management Maximum Annual Fee First $30,000,000 1.00% Next $20,000,000 (up to $50,000,000) 0.75% Over $50,000,001 0.50%”
Note: CRD 167017 independently re-verified ACTIVE/isSECRegistered=Y, SEC-approved since 3/19/2013. Colony managed $3,316,138,803 in discretionary assets (plus $46,255,217 non-discretionary) as of December 31, 2025. The brochure states a $10,000,000 minimum collective family account size, waivable at Colony’s discretion; the tiered maximum-fee schedule itself begins at the first $30,000,000 and is not gated by that account minimum, so it is used as stated for all four benchmark balances. The brochure also mentions accounts may be subject to a minimum annual fee without stating a dollar figure, so no minimum_fee is recorded.
- First $30,000,000: 1.00%
- Next $20,000,000 (up to $50,000,000): 0.75%
- Over $50,000,001: 0.50%
What you would pay
| Account balance | Annual fee (dollars) | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $2,500 | 1.00% |
| $500,000 | $5,000 | 1.00% |
| $1,000,000 | $10,000 | 1.00% |
| $2,000,000 | $20,000 | 1.00% |
Colony’s schedule is marginal: the first $30,000,000 of assets is charged 1.00% under the published maximum-fee schedule, and all four benchmark balances fall entirely inside that first bracket, so each is simply the balance multiplied by 1.00%.
How this compares
Our benchmark of published adviser fee schedules puts the weighted median annual cost near $2,000 to $2,500 on $250,000 (the benchmark). At $500,000, Colony Family Offices’s own published rate runs $5,000 a year.
