Is Homrich Berg a Fiduciary? What Its Own Form CRS Says (2026)

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 23, 2026. Quick answer: Yes, on every account. Homrich Berg is registered with the SEC only as an investment adviser (it is not a broker-dealer), so the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 requires it to act as your fiduciary. Its own Form CRS states: “When we act as your investment adviser, we have to act in your best interest and not put our interest ahead of yours.”

How it’s registered

From HB Wealth Management, LLC (Homrich Berg) Form CRS (January 15, 2025): “HB Wealth Management, LLC (“HB Wealth” or “HB”) is registered as an Investment Adviser with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (“SEC”).”

Homrich Berg’s SEC registration (CRD 108189) was terminated in November 2021 when the firm re-registered under a new CRD the same week; the current, active registrant is HB Wealth Management, LLC (CRD 316731), doing business as Homrich Berg / HB Wealth, at the same Atlanta address. This page cites the current CRD.

The standard of conduct, in its own words

“When we act as your investment adviser, we have to act in your best interest and not put our interest ahead of yours.”

On commissions: “We do not charge commissions, performance-based fees, or hourly fees.”

What this means for what you pay

Fiduciary status is one input, not the whole picture. Homrich Berg discloses a published fee that runs $12,500 a year on a $500,000 account; see the full dollar breakdown from Homrich Berg’s own fee disclosure before deciding whether the standard of conduct here changes your answer.

If the answer above changes your mind about staying, read the general mechanics of switching financial advisors, or use a dated termination letter once you decide.
