Acorns Minimum Investment (2026): What It Takes to Open an Account

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 23, 2026. Quick answer: Acorns does not impose a minimum account size for its Acorns Invest Account. Its own brochure states there is no minimum account size, and that most clients can begin investing with as little as five dollars ($5).

The minimum, in the firm’s own words

“There is no minimum account size. Most clients can begin investing with as little as five dollars ($5) and continue investing five dollars ($5) or more at a time into their Acorns account(s).”

$2,000,000$48

What else to know

Acorns’ own brochure states there is no minimum account size at all; most clients start with as little as $5. Its flat monthly subscription fee (Bronze/Silver/Gold) does not change with account balance, so it applies from the very first dollar.

What a larger account would cost

The minimum is only the entry point. On a $500,000 account, Acorns’ own published fee schedule runs $48 a year; see the full dollar breakdown from Acorns’ own fee disclosure across several account sizes.
