Fisher Investments Minimum Investment (2026): What It Takes to Open an Account

Guides › Financial Advisor Fees

Updated September 18, 2026. Quick answer: $1,000,000 for Private Client Group (PCG). Fisher Investments’ own Form ADV Part 2A brochure states this figure directly, though the firm reserves some discretion to adjust it. At that minimum, Fisher Investments’ own published fee schedule works out to $12,500 a year.

The minimum, in the firm’s own words

“At present, The Private Client Group (PCG) targets aggregated accounts with at least $1,000,000 in investable assets owned by a client, but may accept smaller values at FI’s discretion.”

On waivability: “but may accept smaller values at FI’s discretion”

$1,000,000 is exactly Fisher’s first marginal breakpoint: 1.25% on the first $1,000,000 works out to $12,500 a year.

$500,000$7,500
$1,000,000$12,500
$2,000,000$23,750

What else to know

Fisher’s $1 million figure is described as a target, not a hard requirement. Below it, the firm says it will accept smaller relationships at its own discretion, billed at a flat 1.50% rate instead of the tiered schedule that applies at or above the target.

What a larger account would cost

The minimum is only the entry point. On a $500,000 account, Fisher Investments’ own published fee schedule runs $7,500 a year; see the full dollar breakdown from Fisher Investments’ own fee disclosure across several account sizes.
